The Arlington Center has been serving the Northwest Suburbs and Chicagoland area for close to 30 years. Founded in 1981, Arlington Counseling Associates was formed to meet the counseling needs of individuals and families. Many years later we formed the Arlington Center for Attention Deficit Disorders focusing on assessments and treatments of ADHD individuals and their families. Today we are known as The Arlington Center, functioning as two clinics in one.

A Group Private Practice of Counseling & Psychological Services
The Arlington Center is a group private practice
comprised of Clinical Psychologists, Social Workers and
Licensed Certified Professional Counselors. Our staff are
experts in their respective areas which include behavior
disorders, school performance difficulties, Attention
Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD/ADD), Sexual Addiction & compulsive behaviors, Marital Struggles, Adolescent Defiance, Psychological Testing, Group Therapy, Abuse & trauma recovery, Depression, Anxiety, and Health Problems. We provide
informative, topical presentations on various mental health
issues and offer these services to the community. Our
professionals are sought after by many local schools to train
teachers on how to better identify and intervene with their
ADHD and LD children in the classroom.
A particular strength of the clinic is the ability to diagnose and treat ADD/ADHD. We provide comprehensive assessments for children and adults as well as have a board certified psychiatrist on site for consultations and medical management. We offer parent training classes specially designed for parents of oppositional and defiant children. We also offer individual and family counseling, consultations and psycho-educational counseling.
Several of our therapists are trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). This technique is primarily used for trauma or anxiety. This unique form of treatment is shown to bring about healing even in cases where traditional psychotherapy has failed.
We have been helping to change lives through innovative group experiences for more than two decades. Over the years we have offered men’s groups, women’s groups, survivors groups, sex addicts groups, children with ADD groups, and the popular co-ed groups. We have been a pioneer in leading experientially based retreats and are one of the few private practices in the state of Illinois to offer individual and group experiences with “Equine Assisted Therapy”. Each of our staff has an attitude of excellence, continuing their personal growth past their degree with numerous advanced training experiences and personal psychotherapy.
Rounding out the services, we offer the more traditional counseling and therapies such as individual, child, adolescent, adult, marital, and family or blended family sessions.
