Daniel Goff, Psy. D. is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. He works with
children, teens, families, couples and individuals who are struggling with anxiety,
depression, addictions, affairs and anger problems. He also specializes in the
assessment and treatment of children and adults with ADHD, Sensory Integration
Disorder, and Bi-polar Disorder. He holds a doctorate in clinical psychology from
the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. He is called upon by local schools
to help address troublesome and potential threatening situations involving
students. He also works closely with his church in equipping leaders, teaching
premarital workshops, and playing in the band (an accomplished guitarist- feel free to check out some of his acoustic guitar music at www.livingroomproductions.org).
He is married with three children (two of them with ADHD).
Brad Olson, Psy.D.,M.Div. is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. Brad specializes in the assessment & treatment of childhood, adolescent and adult ADHD (providing evaluations, consultations, and counseling), depression, marital therapy, addictions, career & vocational issues, and child play therapy. Before joining our staff, he served as Director of counseling for a youth organization and brings particular skill, training and experience to his work with teens and young adults. He completed his Psychological Doctorate (Psy.D.) from Forest Institute for Professional Psychology (in Clinical Psychology). He has completed a Master of Arts degree in psychology and Master of Divinity degree with an emphasis in pastoral counseling from Bethel Seminary in St. Paul, MN. His experience also includes individual counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychological testing, and premarital counseling. Brad has been a frequent speaker for community, educational and church organizations.
Steven Hines, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Prior to joining The Arlington Center, he was the Director of Counseling at Trinity International University in Deerfield, IL. He has years of experience doing therapy with adults, couples, adolescents, and groups. Steven works with a wide range of clients using a variety of tools such as EMDR and equine assisted therapy. He leads groups for recovering sex addicts, does team community building, and consults with businesses and church staffs. Steven is married and has three children.
Jan Paul Hook, ED.D., is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). He has his doctorate in Educational Psychology and Counseling from Northern Illinois University and master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Trinity International University. Jan is a clinical member and clinical supervisor with the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). Jan’s area of expertise includes individual, group, and marital counseling. Prior to coming to The Arlington Center, he was the director of the marital restoration workshops, A Safe Place Ministry (for persons struggling with same-sex attractions), and Faithful & True Ministries for men and women (persons struggling with sexual addictions) at Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington. Jan also worked for years as the director of the counseling center at Trinity International University in Deerfield, IL. His expertise also includes counseling with men struggling with sex addiction. He and his colleague, Steven Hines lead four men’s groups here at The Arlington Center. Jan is also an adjunct professor at Trinity International University. He teaches Human Sexuality and Career Counseling at the graduate school. He also serves with Dare To Soar, a ministry of men’s weekend retreats. He is available as a speaker and trainer on various issues including sexuality and men’s issues. He is married with one child.

Kerry DeVries, M.A., is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). She graduated from Taylor University with a B.A. in psychology and completed her graduate work at Ball State University with an M.A. in counseling and social psychology. Prior to coming to The Arlington Center, she worked with behavior disordered and learning disabled children in multiple treatment settings, including day treatment-therapeutic day school settings. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. She specializes in the treatment of ADD/ADHD, anxiety and phobia disorders, eating disorders, and depression. She has experience running parent training groups for parents of ADD/ADHD and Oppositional Defiant Disordered children. Kerry has an interest in working with women who struggle with infertility issues. She is also an EMDR-certified therapist.
Jane Chovanec, M.A., is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LCPC) with a Master’s degree from Trinity International University. She has both co-led and facilitated therapy groups and has over 15 yrs experience in pastoral counseling. Jane specializes in the treatment of trauma and sexual abuse with expertise incorporating the spiritual, emotional, physical, and relational aspects of healing. She currently treats individuals, adolescents, adults, and couples.
Bethany Mitchell, M.A., is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Bethany has an B.A. in psychology and graduated from Trinity International University with a M.A. in Counseling Psychology. Prior to coming to The Arlington Center, she worked in various treatment facilities, including an agency setting serving many different populations and a mental health hospital where she performed intake duties. She specializes in the treatment of depression, anxiety, self-mutilation/cutting behaviors, and women’s issues. She works with adolescents and adults.
Melissa Chaffer, M.A., L.P.C., is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She graduated from Western Illinois University with a B.S. in Child Development, Family Living & Gerontology, and holds a Masters degree in Community Counseling from Roosevelt University. She previously worked as Director of Small Groups and Counseling at Alpine Chapel in Lake Zurich, IL. She has worked in an inpatient psychiatric setting (Forest Hospital) leading "multi-family" groups and as a Case Worker Aid with the Illinois Department of Public Aid. She works with Teens and adults. She specializes in surviving trauma, the emotional effects of medical conditions, relationship issues, depression and anxiety. Melissa is married and has 3 children.
Jerome Iverson, M.A., is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). A graduate of Seattle Pacific University, he holds a B.A. in Psychology and an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Trinity International University. He is a former Associate Dean and Counseling Center therapist at Trinity also. Prior to coming to The Arlington Center, he established and worked for years at his own private practice in the northwest suburbs. He has experience in premarital, marital, individual, and group counseling. Jerome has done extensive mission consulting with the rehabilitation of teams and individuals returning from various international mission fields. His consulting expertise also includes working with churches and pastors, addressing issues of governance and staff discipline. He is married with two children.
